Our group is based in the School for Environment and Sustainability at University of Michigan. We are focused on understanding how species and communities are responding to human-induced changes in the environment, which we primarily do through macroevolutionary and macroecological analyses of functional traits derived from museum specimens. We supplement this approach with field-based observational work, in situ experimental manipulation, and genomics-based approaches to understanding ecological and evolutionary dynamics. So far we've been grinding away with birds, but we'll happily use any system best suited to addressing a question.
